NATIONAL GREEN SELECT DAY
Get started.
Work together.
Make a difference.
Every day more and more is revealed about the environment, and every day we are more aware of how important it is to take action. There is no single answer that will provide a quick fix to the environment's problems. But if we each pitch in and work as a team, then we make a significant impact on the health of our planet.
Offering green and sustainable products makes a big difference on the environment. And with your help we can do even more. If you want to be more involved with your communities and really take an active role in making our world a better place, you finally have a place to go...
You can join us.
We're ready to get started, work together, and make a difference.
On National Green Select Day, April 18, 2009, Carpet One Floor & Home stores across North America are going out into their communities to clean and beautify our environment. And you're invited to join in!
Every Carpet One Floor & Home store is owned by people who live in and love their communities. Carpet One Floor & Home stores across North America have taken the pledge to serve our communities and build community pride. We're cleaning parks, river banks, railroad tracks, playgrounds, and planting trees and flowers.
We've been reducing waste, conserving resources, and increasing recycling in our stores. And last year we thought, why not go a step further? Going green to us is about caring about people. Why not get our friends, family, and neighbors involved?
So that's what we decided to do. National Green Select Day 2008 was a great success. Check out some of the stories on our blog. Now we're ready for National Green Select Day 2009.
You can view our store list of participating Carpet One Floor & Home locations to find a location near you. Stop in and take the pledge to take action on National Green Select Day. We'll update this list regularly as more stores develop National Green Select Day projects, so keep checking back! You can also follow us on Twitter! And if you have any ideas for project clean ups and beautification in your community, post them to our National Green Select Day blog.
We know that the definition for "green" is always changing. And we're ready to change with it. This is what going green means to us: communities coming together to make environmentally responsible decisions. One key word in our definition of green will remain constant no matter what we learn: community. We believe that to really go green, to really make an impact on the environment, means that we need to be active and work together with our community members.
National Green Select Day will give each of us the chance to meet and work together to take action and make a positive impact. Let's get started, work together, and make a difference.
